Language in SID and ICM display

The language for the texts displayed in the SID and ICM display depends on the language selection made in SID under the menu System setting. ICM controls language management and has the texts for the different languages in its memory. The different ICM variants contain a variety of different languages. In order to change language in ICM2 when the required language is not available as a menu option the software in ICM must be replaced by means of SPS programming.

Language for navigation

The language for the texts displayed in the SID and ICM display depends on the language selection made in SID under the menu System setting. The navigation system audio messages are also dependent on this language selection. There are 7 different language variants for the navigation system audio messages. The navigation system is only fitted in cars equipped with ICM3 which means that all languages are available in the ICM unit. The languages available in ICM3 are UK English, US English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.

Language for telephone

The language for the texts displayed in the SID and ICM display depends on the language selection made in SID under the menu System setting.

The language for voice control is governed by the telematics unit software version. The telematics unit CU GSM is in 6 different language variants (UK English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish) and the unit CU AMPS is in 2 different variants (US English and Canadian French).

However, the telematics unit can only contain one language. The unit must be SPS programmed in order to change language.

The software for CU GSM is available on IRIS from and including T152000 edition 2003-4 Update 2 (or later).
