Fault symptom
Incorrect display of fuel level
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Continuous
Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Engine running.
Fault criteria:
When the voltage on the input is below 0.72 V for more than 1 s.
(Value is -15 L in case of a fault)

None
System reaction to a fault:
The control module uses a substitute value of 40 litres when fault is detected.
OK report:
Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 2 s with engine running.
Fault handling:
Type III without Check Engine.

Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
