Fault symptom
Check Engine

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
Continuous

Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Tank purge active.
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: P0685, P0686, P0687

Fault criteria:
Output voltage below 2 V during the portion of the PWM period when the control module is not grounding. The condition exists for more than 2 s.

Depenent
None

System reaction to a fault:
No fuel shut-off.
Fuel adaption is blocked and reset.
EVAP canister purge valve deactivated.

OK report:
Diagnostics carried out without fault reported.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
