Type of diagnosis:
Continuous
Enable criteria:
General conditions for this DTC
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: P0245, P0246
Test 1
- Engine running.
Test 2
- Engine speed more than 1900 rpm.
- Charge air pressure more than current atmospheric pressure +20 kPa.
- Throttle position 10% - 50%.
Fault criteria:
Test 1
- When air mass is 250 mg/C lower than the requested value.
Test 2
- When the pressure difference before and after the damper exceeds 20 kPa.
Dependent:
P0101, P0102, P0103
P0106, P0107, P0108
P0236, P0237, P0238
P2227, P2228, P2229
System reaction to a fault:
Torque limited to max. 170 Nm.
OK report:
Test 1 and Test 2 completed once and fault criteria not fulfilled.
Fault handling:
Type III
(See Description of On-Board Diagnostics/Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
Fault on turbo system causing too high boost pressure.
IMPORTANT: If the control module part no. is 55354002 for B202E/L or 55354562 for B207R, the control module shall be upgraded with the latest software because these part nos. can incorrectly detect the DTC. If the part. no. is later then the numbers listed here carry out with normal fault tracing. The DTC can remain even after SPS-programming because it is a valid fault.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
Test value:
- Charge Air Absolute Pressure
- Manifold Absolute Pressure
- Atmosphere Absolute Pressure
- Charge Air Control Valve
Activation:
- Charge Air Control Valve
