O2S Circuit. Low Voltage. Sensor 2.







Fault symptom
Check Engine

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
Continuous

Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Engine running.
Mass air flow above 190 mg/C.
No fuel shut-off.
Secondary air pump not active, if fitted.
EVAP, leak diagnosis inactive (if OBD II).
Preheating active for more than 4 s.
Lambda control active for more than 5 s.
Closed loop between -20 and 20%.
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: P0101, P0102, P0103

Fault criteria:
When voltage across the sensor is less than 100 mV for 30 s.

Dependent:
None

System reaction to a fault:
Preheating is switched off.
Adaption of rear oxygen sensor is blocked and reset.

OK report:
Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 31 s.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help

NOTE: The oxygen sensor receives reference oxygen from the surroundings via connection cables. For this reason, contact spray or grease may not be used in the oxygen sensor connectors.
