On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
Continuous

Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:
When voltage on input exceeds 4.85 V for more than 1.0 s.

Dependent:
None

System reaction to a fault:
Torque limited to max. 170 Nm.
Correction of intake air temperature for ignition timing blocked.
Substitute value for intake air temperature is current coolant temperature up to +40 degree C, the substitute value is +40 degree C.

OK report:
When fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 2 s with engine running.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
