Fault Conditions
P0106 00
Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Performance Problem.
Fault symptom
CHECK ENGINE
Cruise control not working.
Limp home
The engine speed drops more slowly than usual when the accelerator is released.
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Continuous
Enable criteria:
General conditions for this DTC
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Test 1
- Ignition ON.
- Vehicle speed 0 km/h.
- Engine speed 0 rpm.
- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: P0107, P0108, P0237, P0238, P2228 and P2229.
- The conditions above must be fulfilled for more than 3 s, after which the engine must be running for the diagnosis to finally run.
Test 2
- Accelerator pedal released
- Engine speed higher than 1300 rpm
- Engine load lower than 110 mg/c.
- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: P0107, P0108.
Fault criteria:
Test 1
- Absolute pressure sensor value differs more than 12 kPa from atmospheric pressure sensor and charge air absolute pressure sensor.
Test 2
- Absolute pressure sensor value exceeds 50 kPa
Dependent:
None
System reaction to a fault:
Torque limited to max. 170 Nm.
Purge blocked.
Boost pressure adaption is blocked and reset.
Correction of mass air flow/combustion for fuel calculation is blocked.
Limited acceleration and idle function.
Cruise control blocked.
Secondary air switched off.
OK report:
Test 1 and Test 2 completed once and fault criteria not fulfilled.
Fault handling:
Type III
(See Description of On-Board Diagnostics/Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.
IMPORTANT:
- The diagnostic trouble code can also be generated if the camshafts are incorrectly adjusted.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
Pressure sensor value, unit kPa. When engine stationary, value must agree with values of two other pressure sensors. Permitted difference is 12 kPa.
