Fault symptom
ABS/TCS/ESP warning lamp on.
Messages shown in SID.
Steering column lock not working.
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Continuous
Enable criteria:
Ignition ON. The following diagnostic trouble codes may not be generated: C0035 C0040 C0045 C0050
Fault criteria:
The control module internal power supply circuit to the sensors detects a short-circuit to ground.
System reaction to a fault:
No ABS function
No TCS/ESP function
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits.
Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
Electrical fault in connecting leads or faulty sensor.
The DTC can be generated due to:
^ The power supply to one of the sensors is intermittently short-circuited to ground.
^ One of the sensors if faulty.
^ Internal control module fault.
^ The DTC can be generated if standard sensor diagnosis does not detect the fault.
