Substantial Engine Knocking

Fault symptoms
Substantial engine knocking due to poor fuel grade, resulting in serious damage to the engine.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for the current fault symptom:
- Wrong fuel grade used. Fuel grade RON 91-98 octane is approved for petrol engines. In certain markets, petrol is sold under the designation "regular", where the grade is not specified.

Procedure
It is important that the customer is informed as to which fuel grade is approved for the vehicle and to never use petrol under RON 91 octane. This can be done upon delivery as well as during service visits.
