Engine Speed Does Not Go Down

Engine Speed Does Not Go Down

Fault symptoms
Engine speed does not go down when the accelerator is released and the clutch pedal is depressed during gearchanges.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for the current fault symptom:
- Speed over 20 - 30 km/h
- Clutch pedal depressed

Procedure
The TCS system reacts to a speed difference over 5 km/h on the front or rear wheels to counteract skidding. If, for example, the tyre diameter on the front wheels differs from that of the rear wheels, the TCS system reacts as if there is a skid and does not allow engine speed to decrease.

1. Switch off the TCS system using the TCS button and check if the fault remains.
2. Check that all wheels have the same tyre diameter. The maximum permissible difference in radius between the front and rear wheels is 5%.
