Adjusting the Coolant Temperature Gauge

Adjusting The Coolant Temperature Gauge

The coolant temperature gauge scale is divided into 5 fixed "breakpoints", of which 3 are adjustable.
- Low-temp High: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle leaves the "blue" zone (Factory setting: 50 degrees C).
- Horizontal Low-temp: Breakpoint when the gauge needle is in the horizontal position (factory setting: 80 degrees C).
- Horizontal High-temp: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle leaves the horizontal position (factor setting: 115 degrees C).
- High-temp Low: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle enters the "red" zone (factory setting: 129 degrees C).

There are two possibilities of adjusting the coolant temperature readings, depending on the fault
symptoms:
1. Coolant temperature corresponding to the fixed breakpoints can be adjusted.
2. The horizontal breakpoint (gauge reading with engine at operating temperature) can be moved up or down.

Adjustment can be checked afterwards by activating Night Panel with the diagnostic tool.
