An armrest can be fitted to the driver's seat backrest on 5D cars. It can be tilted up flush with the backrest when not in use. Since the armrest is fitted directly to the backrest, it is always the same distance from the seat cushion.

The armrest is fitted with an automatic lock to prevent it falling down unintentionally in the event of braking. This lock can be activated if the car tilts forward. When the car stands horizontally again the armrest can lowered.
