Telephone System
The car is prepared for connection of a mobile phone as follows:
- Standard, standard preparation, i.e. in all cars.
- Option, extra option which means that the "handsfree" function can be used.
Standard
The car is prepared for a mobile phone connection by means of an 18-pin connector to which the phone can be connected. Via the connector, the normal volume of the audio system can be controlled (disconnected) and a power supply for the phone (battery charging) can be obtained.
Cars from model year 2001 and VIN 12046130 have a dummy antenna instead of a regular antenna mounted to the roof. The dummy antenna looks the same as a regular antenna but lacks connections.
Function
- +30 current is supplied from fuse 23 to pin 11 for powering the mobile phone and charging its battery.
- +15 current is supplied from fuse 17 to pin 10 to switch on the mobile phone.
- Ground connection to grounding point G34S via pin 1.
- Mute control to disconnect the normal sound via pin 4 of the 18-pin connector to pin 3(A) on the main unit. The pin is grounded.
Option (handsfree)
The car is prepared for a mobile phone connection through an 18-pin connector to which the phone can be connected and utilise the "handsfree" function.
The audio system's normal sound can be controlled (disconnected) and the power supply for the phone (battery charge) obtained via the connector. Incoming telephone sound is relayed through the audio system loudspeakers and outgoing speech picked up by a built-in microphone in the car.
A coaxial cable for the mobile phone antenna is pre-installed.
Function
