P0327
P0327
Knock Sensor Circuit. Low Input, Bank 1.
Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Limited engine torque.
On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
- Engine running. Main relay voltage exceeding 11 V. Coolant temperature exceeding 60 degree C.
Fault criteria:
- Knock voltage below 0.25 V when spark produced during 25 combustions.
Dependents:
- P0115, P0116, P0117, P0118 and P0119.
System reaction to a fault:
- Knock signal set to 5 V. In this way knock detection will take place continuously on all cylinders when under high load.
OK report:
- Enable criteria fulfilled. Fault criteria not fulfilled within 120 s.
Fault handling: (For more information, Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Components and Function)
- Type III.
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns electrical fault in connecting leads or in the ignition discharge module.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Knock sensor value, unit V.
For more information, refer to scan tool testing. Menu Read Values
NOTE: The knock sensor function is an internal function in the ignition discharge module, there are no external sensors.
Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
