Checking The Wiring Harness

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







Unplug the connector:
Main instrument unit 20-pin connector 540






Connect test lamp 86 11 857 between B+ and pin 1 of the 20-pin connector on the main instrument unit.












Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.







- The test lamp should go on for 3 seconds, after which it should go off for 0.5 seconds and then go on again.

Is the function correct?

NO - Rectifying the Lead

YES - Changing Components
