Rear-Seat center Belt, 5D
To remove
1 Tip the rear-seat seat cushions forward.
2 Fasten the rear belts in the belt holders on the C pillars.
3 Tip the 40% backrest forward slightly and detach the clip securing the trim.
4 Use a screwdriver to release the catch by the sill and lift out the backrest (upwards).
5 Pull the backrest away from the hinge pin at the center pivot and lift out the backrest.
6 Remove the center belt's lower mounting.
7 Remove the hinge pin at the center pivot.
IMPORTANT
Do not touch the two retaining bolts.
8 Detach the clip securing the 60% backrest's trim (by the outer belt anchorage.
9 Set the backrest in the upright position. Lift the backrest oft the left-hand side bracket.
10 Move the 60% backrest towards the door so that the center pivot pin comes out of its hole.
11 Lift out the backrest.
12 Remove the backrest catch's cover, 1 screw in the side and clips (turn 1/4 turn).
13 Pull off the back plate, secured with clips. Move the angled side of the trim out of its groove in order to extract the plate.
IMPORTANT
Take care to avoid breaking the corner.
14 Remove the belt plate, 4 screws, from the rear of the backrest.
15 Lift the strap guide off the backrest and remove it from the belt.
16 Cut away the foam padding slightly so that the strap guide's screws become accessible.
17 Remove the strap guide by undoing the screws.
18 Withdraw the strap guide and remove it from the belt
19 Withdraw the inertia reel and belt.
To fit
1 Fit the inertia reel and belt.
2 Mount the belt plate on the rear of the backrest, 4 screws.
3 Insert the belt through the guide and fit the strap guide in place. Insert the longer side first.
4 Fit the strap guide's screws.
Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)
5 Insert the belt, fit the strap guide on the backrest.
6 Fit the back plate by pressing in the edges and pressing all the clips into place.
7 Fit the backrest catch's cover Check the operation of the release button.
8 Lift the 60% backrest into place.
9 Bend aside the center seat-belt buckles. Fit the pin in its hole in the center pivot.
10 Lower the backrest vertically over the side mounting,
11 Hook the clip securing the 60% backrest trim into place.
12 Fit the hinge pin at the center pivot.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm (17.6 lbf ft)
IMPORTANT
Do not touch the two retaining bolts.
Check the 60% backrest's locking function and lock indication.
13 Lift the 40% backrest into place and fit the hinge pin in its hole at the center pivot.
14 Press the backrest down against the side mounting, making sure that the catch engages.
15 Hook the clip securing the trim into place.
16 Press the backrest to the rear so that the upper catches engage.
Check the function.
17 Fit the center belt's lower mounting.
Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
18 Tip the rear seat's seat cushions down.
