Fault Conditions
P1106
Charge Air Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Performance Problem.
Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Engine speed drops slower than normal when accelerator pedal is released.
On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
- Crankshaft stationary, even after ignition OFF. Car stationary. The other two absolute pressure sensors deviate less than 10 kPa from each other.
Fault criteria:
- Sensor value differs more than 15 kPa from atmosphere absolute pressure sensor.
Dependents:
- P0336 and P0337.
System reaction to a fault:
- Density compensation of the throttle angle is blocked. Charge air adaptation is blocked and zeroed. As a substitute value the atmospheric pressure sensor is used.
OK report:
- Fault criteria for P1106, P1107 or P1108 not fulfilled.
Fault handling: (For more information, Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Components and Function)
- Type III.
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns sensor fault.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Pressure sensor value, unit kPa.
With the engine stationary, the value should correspond with the two other pressure sensors. Accepted difference is 10 kPa.
