Lock Button In Centre Console and Door
Lock button in centre console
The central locking system can be locked from the inside of the car using the button on the center console. The car can only be unlocked with the center console button if the car has been locked using that button or with the lock buttons on each door.
If the central locking system is locked using the key or remote control, it cannot be operated using the lock button. The lock button functions once the ignition key has been turned to ON and the correct immobilizer code has been identified.
Convertible models do not have the center console button, instead the central locking system can be operated with the lock buttons in the doors.
Locking all doors
When the button is pressed down, a microswitch closes and grounds pin 17 and then pin 6 on the TWICE control module is grounded.
A short voltage impulse is fed from TWICE control module pin 22 to the door lock motors which lock the doors.
The lock motors are grounded in the TWICE control module on:
- Pin 26 and 42, driver's door (5D, 3D and Convertible)
- Pin 66 and 69, front passenger door (5D, 3D and convertible)
- Pin 49 and 20, rear doors (5D)
Unlocking all doors
When the button is pressed down, a microswitch closes and grounds pin 15 whereby pin 7 on the TWICE control module is grounded.
A short voltage impulse is fed from the TWICE control module to the lock motors from:
- Pin 26, driver's door (5D, 3D and convertible)
- Pin 69, front passenger door (5D, 3D and convertible)
- Pin 49, rear doors (5D)
The lock motors are grounded in the TWICE control module on:
- Pin 42 and 22, driver's door (5D, 3D and Convertible)
- Pin 66 and 22, front passenger door (5D, 3D and Convertible)
- Pin 20 and 22, rear doors (5D)
Separate unlocking of driver's door with the button on the centre console (US/CA)
When the button is pressed the first time, a microswitch closes and grounds pin 15, whereby pin 7 on the TWICE control module is grounded.
A short voltage impulse is fed from TWICE control module pin 26 to the driver's door lock motor which unlocks the driver's door.
The lock motor is grounded on pins 42 and 22 of the TWICE control module.
When the button is pressed a second time, a microswitch closes and grounds pin 15, whereby pin 7 on the TWICE control module is grounded.
A short voltage impulse is fed to the lock motors from the TWICE control module pins:
- Pin 69, front passenger door (5D, 3D and convertible)
- Pin 49, rear doors (5D)
The lock motors are grounded in the TWICE control module on:
- Pin 66 and 22, front passenger door (5D, 3D and convertible)
- Pin 20 and 22, rear doors (5D)
Lock button in door
The lock buttons on the doors lock and unlock each respective door.
If a door is unlocked with the lock button on the door when the car is locked and the door is then opened, the TWICE control module receives the information that the door is open. Then, when the door is closed and locked with the key, remote control or the button on the centre console, TWICE first unlocks the door and then immediately commands locking.
This process occurs to reset the lock unit mechanical components to allow the lock motor to lock the door.
When a door has been unlocked with its lock button, the TWICE control module processes the driver's door and front passenger door separately and both rear doors (5D) together.
Convertible cars do not have the button on the centre console, instead the central locking system can be operated by the lock buttons in the doors.
