Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Description and Operation

Remote Control, Battery

The remote control is operated by a 3V lithium battery (CR 2032) and in normal use the battery will last for around 3 years. The battery should be changed when the range falls.

For safety reasons, we recommend changing the battery once a year.

Battery warning (low voltage)
When the battery in the remote control fails, a battery warning is activated. When the warning is detected 10 times in succession, a CHECK message is sent out to the bus. The SID unit reads the message and displays CHANGE BATTERY IN REMOTE CONTROL on the SID display to draw the driver's attention to the battery condition.

Important
When the battery is changed or if the vehicle power supply has been disconnected, the remote control code must be synchronized with TWICE by pressing one of the buttons on the remote control 4 times in succession.

Synchronization is confirmed when the central locking is activated.
