Belt Pulley on Power Steering Pump
Belt pulley on power steering pump, 4-cylinder engine
To remove
1. Detach the intake hose with mass air flow sensor and turn it to one side.
2. Release the tension from the belt tensioner using drawbar handle 83 95 254 and remove the belt from the pulley
3. Using Puller, servo Pump pulley 89 96 423 remove the belt pulley.
To fit
1. Fit the new belt pulley on the shaft, using fitting tool 89 96 415. The belt pulley should be fitted so that its hub is 3.0 mm beyond the edge of the pump shaft.
IMPORTANT: No load should be placed on the pump shaft. Do not pull the belt pulley too far in.
2. Release the tension from the belt tensioner using drawbar handle 83 95 254and fit the belt to the pulley.
Check that the belt is correctly fitted on all pulleys.
3. Connect the intake hose with mass air flow sensor.
4. Drive the car on test to check pump performance and see if any leakage occurs.
