Customer Satisfaction Campaign 838: Disturbances due to wiring harness provisions for CD changer
Background
Certain cars have a wiring harness for a trunk-mounted CD changer. The 12-pin connector of this wiring harness may be located where it is subjected to moisture. This in turn can affect bus communication.
This MI describes the procedure to inspect for moisture and reposition the harness.
Cars affected
Saab 9-5 M99-M00 within the following VIN Serial Number Ranges:
X3020001 - Y3046149 and which have no trunk - mounted CD changer installed.
NOTE:
If a vehicle has a trunk-mounted CD changer installed, stamp the campaign plate as noted on the Modification Instructions and submit a warranty claim using Alternative A Warranty/time information. No further repair action is required.

Disturbances to bus communication.
Owner Notification
As much as possible, owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Saab Cars USA, Inc.
No VIN Status List will be issued for this campaign.
