Oil Filter: Service and Repair

Bypass valve, oil filter
To remove
1 Raise the car and drain the engine oil.





2 Remove the cover.
3 Cut threads, using an M10 (step 3) screw tap, in the end plate. Screw in an M10 bolt and pull out the bypass Valve

IMPORTANT: Make sure that no metal cuttings are left inside.

To fit





1 Oil the bypass valve and tap it home. Use a on 15 mm drift.
2 Fit the cover with a new seal.
3 Lower the car and fill up with motor oil.
4 Start the engine and check for leakage.
