New Memory Connector For Front Seats

Background

When the driver enters or leaves the car, he or she may touch (or sit on) the memory buttons. In several cases, customers have complained that the positions of the mirrors have changed for no apparent reason. In cases where the "M" button has been touched, the programmed position has also changed.

Diagnostic procedure

To avoid unwanted changes in mirror settings and the reprogramming of existing memory settings, a new switch unit with a higher lip round the buttons was introduced in production during model year 1999.

This new switch carries the same part number as the old one and can be ordered from the order office in Nykoping.
