Checking the Ground Lead







Unplug the connector:
^ Central locking motor, rear right (184RR)

Unplug the connector:
^ Central locking motor, rear left (184RL)












^ Connect a test lamp to battery positive (B+) and pin 6 of the female connector.







^ The test lamp should light.

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the function correct?

NO ^ Rectifying the Lead

YES ^ Continue with Checking the Ground Lead












^ Connect test lamp 86 11 857 between the female connector pin 3 and B+.







^ The test lamp should light.

NO ^ Rectifying the Lead

^ Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to B+ and pin 2 of the female connector.







^ The test lamp should light.
