Programming, Anti-Theft Protection
General
The anti-theft protection function is controlled by TWICE which has its basic program from the control module supplier. However, this basic programming may not satisfy the requirements of all markets (countries) and additional programming may be needed during manufacture of the car. This is called "Factory programming".
When the car has been delivered to a certain market, it may be necessary to replace TWICE or other changes may be made to the system. Under such circumstances it must be possible to carry out "After market programming".
Factory programming
The following programming is done at the factory:
- EOL programming (production)
- Market programming (delivery service), see table below:
EOL programming
The control module is programmed in the car so that it can be identified by the car and can communicate with the other control modules (systems) in the car and can be combine programmed for immobilization.
Market programming
A number of parameters for the anti-theft function are preset to suit the requirements of various markets (countries).
IMPORTANT
Some settings are not allowed in certain markets.
After market programming
The following programming can be carried out during "After market programming
- Spare parts programming
- Immobilization
- Anti-theft alarm
- Programming of transponders and remote controls
- Self-arming
- Self-arming time
Spare parts programming
When TWICE is replaced, this must be programmed in the car so that the control module will function correctly according to specification.
Immobilization
When TWICE is replaced, this must be combine programmed with the Main Instrument Unit and the Engine Management System to obtain the correct immobilization function. Otherwise the engine will not start.
Anti-theft alarm
When an anti-theft alarm is retrofitted, a tilt sensor is added or a tilt sensor/glass breakage sensor is removed, TWICE must be programmed accordingly.
Programming of transponders and remote controls
When replacing TWICE, the kit includes 2 transponders (car keys) and 2 remote controls which are programmed for the new control module. If further transponders (car keys) and/or remote controls, e.g. old ones, are to be used, they can be programmed into the new control module and the module will then recognize them. A maximum of 4 transponders (car keys) and 4 remotes can be programmed in TWICE and used at any one time.
Self-arming
The self-arming function is not programmed during delivery service (inactive). However, the function can be programmed later (active) and the arming time can be set as required.
