Checking The Relay's Control Module Output













- Unplug the connector to the throttle body so that the control module generates a diagnostic trouble code. The limp-home relay will then activate the next time the ignition is turned on.
- Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to pin 3 (86) and pin 5 (85) of the relay holder.





- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.





- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.





- The test lamp should flash 5 times.

Is the function correct?

NO - Rectifying the Lead - II

YES - Changing Components
