Conditions
Internal Control Module. Malfunction.
Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
- Engine running.
Fault criteria:
- Voltage from atmosphere absolute pressure sensor higher than 4.920 V for more than 1 s.
Dependents:
- None.
System reaction to a fault:
- Starting charge air pressure value used as substitute value. Purge blocked.
All diagnoses that have the general condition that the atmospheric pressure must exceed 72 kPa and the engine coolant and intake air temperatures must exceed -7 °C, are blocked.
OK report:
- Fault criteria for P1631, P1632 or P1633 not fulfilled.
Fault handling: Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Comp. & Function
- Type III.
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an internal control module fault as the sensor is mounted in the control module.
Diagnostic tool functions related to this fault are:
- Pressure sensor reading, in kPa.
With the engine switched off, the reading should correspond with those of the other two pressure sensors. Permissible difference: 10 kPa.
