Checking Air Leakage After Flap

Checking Air Leakage After Flap

Check whether:
- the purge valve is airtight
- faulty brake servo
- crankcase ventilation is airtight.
- Check that no air leakage occurs in the vacuum hoses.

Pinch off one hose at a time and observe the diagnostic tool's display to determine whether a leak occurs. It is OK if crankcase ventilation gives an increment of about 5% via the thin hose.

The other hoses must not give any noticeable increment. Note that the EVAP canister purge valve's electrical connection must be disconnected for this check.

Is the system airtight?
