Final Check

- Change - Spark plug

- Reconnect the leads to the discharge modules
- Clear diagnostic trouble codes: Trionic

- Start the engine and run it at idling speed.
- Turn off the A/C.
- Run the engine until the radiator fan starts

- Switch off the engine.
- Start the engine again and let it idle for 1 minute.

Has the diagnostic trouble code recurred?

NO - The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct

YES - Continue with Final Check

- Change - Ignition discharge module Bank 1

- Clear diagnostic trouble codes: Trionic

- Start the engine and run it at idling speed.
- Turn off the A/C.
- Run the engine until the radiator fan starts

- Change - Ignition discharge module, Bank 2

The ignition discharge module for Bank 1 is OK as changing it did not rectify the fault.
- Refit the old discharge module on Bank 1 and fit the new one on Bank 2.

- Clear diagnostic trouble codes: Trionic

- Start the engine and run it at idling speed.
- Turn off the A/C.
- Run the engine until the radiator fan starts
