Belt Tensioners

Seat belts
The cars are equipped with seat belts for the front and rear seats in conformity with legal requirements.
For further information, see Seat belt systems.

WARNING
The decal must not be removed from the seat-belt strap. No modifications or repairs may be made to the belt and no anchorage points may be changed. Make sure that the right belt is fitted, having regard to the variant and location as specified in the spare parts literature.
Belts that have been subjected to stresses in connection with an accident must be removed and destroyed so that they cannot be refitted. Fit new belts as replacements.

Seat-belt reel with triggered seat-belt tensioner
If a car has been involved in a collision that has caused the triggering of a seat-belt tensioner, the complete seat-belt reel with tensioner, belt buckle and fittings must be changed.

If a seat belt in the rear was worn when the collision occurred, it must be removed complete with belt buckle and a new belt fitted in its place.

If no seat-belt tensioner was triggered, inspect all the belts and other equipment.

If the seat-belt tensioner has not detonated it must be scrapped see
Scrapping cars with airbags and seat-belt tensioners.
