Intercooler: Service and Repair


Charge air cooler
To remove
1. Remove the radiator.





2. Undo the hose clips on the charge air cooler's inlet and outlet connections. Remove the hoses.
3. Remove the fasteners securing the charge air cooler to the body.





4. Remove the front grille.
5. Remove the head lamps and direction indicators and set aside.
6. Suspend the capacitor with a cable tie, part No. 8395212.
7. Remove the charge air cooler's bracket from the condenser.
8. Lift out the charge air cooler.

To fit





1. Lift the charge air cooler into position.
2. Attach the charge air cooler's bracket to the condenser. Remove the cable tie holding up the condenser.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (5.9 ft. lbs.)
3. Fit the head lamps and direction indicators. Check the head lamp alignment.
4. Refit the front grille.





5. Fit the fasteners securing the charge air cooler to the body.
6. Connect the charge air cooler's inlet and outlet hoses.
7. Fit the radiator.
