Warning and Indicator Lamps Controlled By Main instrument not working
This applies to the following lamps:
^ Central warning lamp
^ Door indicator lamps with associated doors
^ LH direction indicators
^ RH direction indicators
^ INFO DISPL lamp
^ SHIFT UP lamp
^ CRUISE Lamp
^ REAR FOG LIGHT lamp
^ SPORT Lamp
^ P, R, N, D, 3, 2,1
^ Tank Empty
^ CHECK ENGINE
^ CHECK GEARBOX
^ Brake fluid warning lamp
^ WINTER Lamp
Fault symptoms
One of the listed lamps does not work.
Diagnostic help
The lamps can be activated with the diagnostic instrument.

Checking the wiring harness
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument while carrying out this check.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Checking the warning lamps
^ Connect the diagnostic instrument and contact the Main instrument unit.
^ Activate: Faulty warning lamp (ON).
Is the function correct?
YES
^ See fault diagnosis of system in question.
^ Go to step2.
NO
^ Check and replace faulty bulb.
^ Go to step2.
2. Final check
^ Clear diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.
^ Carry out a function check.
Is the function correct?
YES
^ The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
NO
