Rear Seat Backrest, 4D, 5D




Rear seat backrest, 4D

To remove







The 40% backrest can be removed separately. To remove the 60% backrest, the 40% backrest must first be removed.

1 Detach the upholstery hooks at the seatbelt mounting.
2 Fold up the seat cushion and fold down the backrest.
3 Undo the lock for the 40% backrest with a finger and pull up the backrest.







Pull the backrest off the spindle pins.
4 Lift out the 40% backrest.
5 60% backrest:
Undo the catch for the 60% backrest with a finger and pull up the backrest.
Pull the backrest spindle pin out of the center floor mounting.
Lift out the 60% backrest.

To fit







1 60% backrest:
Lift in the 60% backrest and insert the pin in the center floor mounting.
Press down on the outer frame of the backrest until the catch locks.
2 Lift in the 40% backrest and insert the pin into the backrest center hinge. Press down on the outer frame of the backrest until the catch locks.


NOTE: Check that the center seat belt runs in front of the spindle pins and backrest.


3 Reattach the upholstery hooks at the seat-belt mounting.







4 Fold back and lock the backrest, and fold down the seat cushions.

Rear seat backrest, 5D

To remove







The 40% part of the backrest can be removed separately. This must be done before the 60% part can be removed.

1 Fold forward the rear seat cushions.
2 Fasten the rear seat belts on the belt holders on the C-pillars.
3 Fold forward the 40% backrest slightly and undo the upholstery clip.
4 Release the catch by the sill with a screwdriver and lift off the backrest (upwards).
5 Pull away the backrest from the hinge pin by the center joint and lift out the backrest.
6 Remove the center seat belt lower mounting.







7 Remove the hinge pin by the center joint.


IMPORTANT
Do not touch the two retaining bolts.


8 Undo the upholstery clip on the 60% backrest.







9 Raise the backrest to the upright position. Lift off the backrest from the LH side mounting.
10 Slide the 60% backrest towards the door to extract the center joint locking pin from its hole.
11 Lift out the backrest.

To fit







1 Lift in the 60% backrest.
2 Move the center belt buckle out of the way. Position the pin in the relevant hole in the center joint.
3 Lower the backrest vertically over the side mounting.
4 Hook on the 60% backrest upholstery clip.
5 Fit the hinge pin by the center joint.

Tightening torque: 24 Nm (17.6 lbf ft)

IMPORTANT
Do not touch the two retaining bolts.

6 Lift in the 40% backrest and position it against the hinge pin by the center joint.







7 Press down the backrest to the side mounting, making sure the catch locks properly.
8 Hook on the upholstery clip.
9 Press back the backrest to engage the upper locks.
Check the function.
10 Fit the center seat belt lower mounting.







Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)

11 Fold back the rear seat cushions.
