Front Door Lock Unit
To remove
1 Lower the window.
2 Open the door and remove the cover around the window frame.
3 Remove the door trim.
4 Carefully remove the water separator.
5 Loosen the door mirror retaining screws slightly so that the weatherstrip can easily be removed. Then remove the outer weatherstrip, which is secured by one screw at the rear end.
6 Lower the window lift so that the mounting is visible at the top of the lower large hole. The clips on the rollers are then easily accessible.
7 Detach the scissor-lift braces from the window mounting by removing the clips and then prying loose the braces from the rollers with a large flat head screwdriver. pry between the brace and the rail close to the ball so the brace is not deformed.
8 Lift out the window by tilting up the back edge.
9 knock out the steel cores from the rivets securing the metal finisher for the wire to the interior door handle, and remove the wire from the finisher.
10 Drill out the rivets, lift out the metal finisher and unhook the wire from the lock.
11 Loosen the guard by removing the rear nut of the handle and guard and the guard's screw.
12 Loosen the lower edge of the guide rail, 2 screws.
13 Pull the guide rail forwards and lift out the guard.
14 Remove the three screws that hold the look to the door.
15 Remove the pull rod from the look by turning the look and at the same time unhooking the push rod between the exterior handle and the look.
16 Undo the connectors on the looking unit.
17 Lift out the look unit.
To fit
1 Plug in the connector to the look unit.
2 Hook the look cylinder pull rod to the look by turning the lock into place and at the same time guiding in the handle's push rod into its mounting on the look.
3 Fit the rod to the look button, and the wire of the inner door handle.
4 Screw on the lock unit.
NOTE: The lock's seal with the door must be placed on the inside of the door.
5 Check that the lock functions correctly.
6 Lift the guard into place.
7 Twist in the guide rail and fit the lower retaining screw.
8 Screw on the nut between the handle and guard, and the guard's screw.
9 Loosen a section of the upper weatherstrip and move the upper part of the window rail backwards at its mounting using a screwdriver.
10 Transfer the scissors-lift rollers to the new window glass (if changed), checking at the same time that they are intact and undamaged.
11 Grease the rollers and sliding surfaces.
12 Fit the clips to the rollers.
13 Lift in the window by tilting down the front. Guide the window into the front guide rail. Tilt it back and guide it into the rear guide rail.
14 Press the scissor-lift brace into the window mounting rollers.
NOTE: A double click should be heard.
15 If necessary, adjust the window.
16 Fit the new weatherstrip against the window.
17 Tighten the door mirror retaining screws.
18 Check that the window lift functions correctly.
19 Fix the door handle wire to the metal finisher with the clip.
20 Rivet the metal finisher in place.
21 Fit the water separator.
IMPORTANT
Make sure the water separator has not been damaged and that it seals the interior door panel properly.
22 Refit the door trim and the cover around the window frame.
23 Polish the window
