Fault Conditions







P1676
Injector Circuit. Open / Short to Ground or B+.


Fault symptoms
- Engine misfires or will not start.

On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:

- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and does not restart until next driving cycle.

Enable conditions:
- Crankshaft rotating. Main relay voltage above 6V.

Fault criteria:
- Voltage on one of the outputs below 2V if the output is not active or exceeding 2V if the output is active. Fault criteria fulfilled after 2 S.

Dependents:
- None.

System reaction to a fault:
- Closed loop is blocked.

OK report:
- Enable criteria fulfilled and fault criteria not fulfilled within 60 S.

- Type III. CHECK ENGINE does not go on.

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in connecting leads or in any of the injectors.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Activate outputs for all injectors.

Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
