Checking the Relay Power Supply







Plug in the connector.
- Motor, rear window wiper (62r)
- Remove component: Rear window intermittent wiper relay







- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

















- Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to pin 4 of the relay holder and a good grounding point.



























- Connect a jumper between B+ and pin 1 on the relay holder.












The test lamp should go on when the wiper arm is on the windscreen.

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
