Checking The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Contact Trionic.
Obtain readings for the absolute pressure sensors as described in the instructions below. If any reading differs by more than 10 kPa from the others, the sensor is defective and should be changed.
- Read value: Manifold Absolute Pressure (Trionic).
- Read value: Charge Air Absolute Pressure (Trionic).
- Read value: Atmosphere Absolute Pressure (Trionic).
The manifold absolute pressure sensor does not affect engine performance but the mass airflow sensor value will be compared with the MAP sensor value later on in the course of fault diagnosis.
The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor in the control module will affect engine performance if it shows too low a value.
