Checking the Control Module's Switch Input - I




Checking the Control Module's Switch Input












- Switch off the engine.







- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Connect BOB (Break Out Box) between CRUISE control module and CRUISE control module female connector.







- Hold switch in CANCEL position.

















Take a voltage reading.
1 (A) - Cruise control module
B-


The reading should be: 0 V

Checking the Wiring Harness
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the function correct?

NO - Checking the Switch's Power Supply - II

YES - Continue With Checking the Control Module's Switch Input







- Hold switch in CANCEL position.

















Take a voltage reading.
2 (B) - Cruise control module
B-


The value should be B+.

Checking the Wiring Harness
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the function correct?

NO - Checking the Switch's Power Supply - II

YES - Continue With Checking the Control Module's Switch Input







- Hold switch in CANCEL position.

















Take a voltage reading.
3 (C) - Cruise control module
B-


The value should be B+.

Checking the Wiring Harness

Is the function correct?

NO - Checking the Switch's Power Supply - II

YES - Checking the Lead From Switch to Control Module - II
