Fault Conditions

Charge Air Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Short to B+.

Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Engine speed drops slower than normal when accelerator pedal is released.

On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:

- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.

Enable criteria:
- Engine running.

Fault criteria:
- Voltage higher than 4.615 V for more than 10 s.

Dependents:
- None.

System reaction to a fault:
- Density compensation of the throttle angle is blocked. Charge air adaptation blocked and zeroed. As a substitute value the atmospheric pressure sensor is used.

OK report:
- Fault criteria for P1106, P1107 or P1108 not fulfilled.

Fault handling: Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Component & Function
- Type III.

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in connecting leads or in the sensor.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Pressure sensor value, unit kPa.

With the engine stationary, the value should correspond with the two other pressure sensors. Accepted difference is 10 kPa.

Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
