Checking the Leads Between the Control Module and the Components







- Remove component: Lights switch.
- Remove component: Switch, fog light
- Remove component: Switch, rear fog light
- Remove component: Switch, heating pad, driver's seat
- Remove component: Switch, heating pad, passenger seat
- Remove component: Lighting for front ashtray/cigarette lighter.
- Remove component: Switch unit for electric window lifts
- Remove component: Rheostat for instrument lighting







- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.







The test lamp should light.

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
