Check Leads Between the Control Module and the Components - I




Checking the Leads Between the Control Module and the Components







Unplug the connector:
- JH6







- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.












- Contact DICE.

Activate: Rheostat PWM Out (DICE) to 100 %

Unplug the connector:
- Hazard flasher switch (25)












- Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to pin 2 of the hazard flasher switch's female connector and a good grounding point.








The test lamp should light.

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the function correct?

NO - Check Leads Between the Control Module and the Components - II

YES - Continue with Checking the Leads Between the Control Module and the Components

















- Remove component: Headlamp beam length adjustment switch
- Remove component: Radio switch A.
- Remove component: Heating and ventilation control panel
- Remove component: Switch, SPORT
- Remove component: Mobile telephone connector.
- Remove component: Switch for electrically heated rear seat.







- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Connect test lamp 86 11 857 between pin 7 on the female connector to the switch for headlamp beam adjustment and a good grounding point.







The test lamp should light.

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the function correct?

NO - Rectifying the Lead - II

YES - Determining the Component Causing the Fault - I
