With Scan Tool

1. Unplug The Connector





Control module, TRIONIC OBDII (589a)





Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to pins 60 and 61 of the female connector.





Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The test lamp should light up for approx. 1 second. If an OBDII diagnostic trouble code is stored in the TCM, the lamp will start to flash, otherwise it should extinguish.

Is the function correct?

NO
Go to step 3

YES
Go to step 2

2. Continue Fault Diagnosis Of TRIONIC OBDII.

Refer to Powertrain Management

When testing is complete:
Go to step 3

3. Rectifying The Lead

Repair or replace the lead between TRIONIC control module pin 61 and transmission control module pin 39.

4. Final Check





Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.

Carry out a functionality test.

Is the function correct?

NO
Go to step

YES
Go to step

5. Final Check

Diagnosis complete
The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.

6. Final Check

Diagnosis for this fault code is complete
