Selector Lever



To remove
1. Remove the Selector lever housing.

IMPORTANT: When working on a dismantled selector lever housing, the selector lever should be protected with foam rubber or the like.

2. Remove the Selector lever casing.





3. Cut the cable tie holding the lead for the lighting button in place.
4. Cut the cable tie securing the lead to the electromagnet (cars with shift-lock).
5. Remove the pins for the electromagnet cable from the connector, pins 5 and 6 (cars with Shift-lock) Use removal tool 85 80 151.
6. Remove the gear position indicator display. Remove the screws securing the ignition switch.
7. Drill out the rivets.
8. Dismantle the selector lever housing.





9. Remove the selector lever retaining bolt.
10. Remove the selector lever with holder from the base plate.
11. Remove the lock washer and tap out the spacer sleeve.
12. Detach the selector lever from the holder.

To fit
1. Fit the selector lever in the holder.





2. Insert the spacer sleeve through the selector lever, ignition switch retaining catch, gear position detent retaining catch and holder.
3. Fit the selector lever with holder into the groove at the front of the base plate.
4. Fit the bolt and tighten it.
5. Fit the selector lever and ignition switch in the selector lever housing. Place the sport button's lead in the clip.





6. NB. The selector lever housing need not be riveted together.
7. Screw the ignition switch in place.
8. Fit a cable tie to hold the lead for the lighting in place.
9. Connect the electromagnet (cars with shift-lock).
10. Insert a cable tie through the hole in the selector lever and round the electromagnet's and WINTER button's leads.
11. Fit the selector lever casing.
12. Fit the selector lever housing.
