Adjusting the Coolant Temperature Gauge/Night Panel

Adjusting The Coolant Temperature Gauge, Night Panel

Adjusting The Coolant Temperature Gauge, Night Panel:

The SID Night Panel function turns off the lighting for the coolant temperature gauge during normal driving. Should the coolant temperature exceed a given number of degrees, the coolant temperature gauge lighting will be turned on. By means of this command it is possible to change the temperature at which the main instrument unit turns on the lighting for the coolant temperature gauge when Night Panel is activated. The default temperature set at the factory is 120 °C.

Adjustment can be checked afterwards by activating Night Panel with the diagnostic tool.

Adjusting The Coolant Temperature Gauge

Adjusting The Coolant Temperature Gauge:

The coolant temperature gauge scale is divided into 5 fixed "breakpoints", of which 3 are adjustable.
- Low-temp High: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle leaves the "blue" zone (Factory setting: 50 °C)
- Horizontal Low-temp: Breakpoint when the gauge needle is in the horizontal position (factory setting: 80 °C).
- Horizontal High-temp: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle leaves the horizontal position (factor setting: 115 °C).
- High-temp Low: Breakpoint at which the gauge needle enters the "red" zone (factory setting: 129 °C).

There are two possibilities of adjusting the coolant temperature readings, depending on the fault symptoms:
1 Coolant temperature corresponding to the fixed breakpoints can be adjusted.
2 The horizontal breakpoint (gauge reading with engine at operating temperature) can be moved up or down. Adjustment can be checked afterwards by activating Night Panel with the diagnostic tool.
