Checking The Horn Switch Grounding
Remove the airbag and unplug all connectors under it,
WARNING
Read through carefully before starting work. Working on A Car With SRS
To remove
Airbag, Driver:
1 Ignition switch in the OFF position.
2 Remove the airbag, 2 screws and plugs.
3 Lift the airbag clear of the steering wheel and unplug the connectors at the rear of the airbag.
To fit
1 Plug in the connectors at the rear of the airbag.
2 Fit the airbag in the steering wheel, 2 screws and plugs.
3 Switch the ignition on and check the SRS system and control module with the diagnostic tool as follows:
Connect the diagnostic tool to the diagnostic socket under the dashboard. Clear any diagnostic trouble codes that are present.
Turn the ignition off and on again. Wait at least 10 seconds with the ignition on.
Check whether a diagnostic trouble code is shown
If a diagnostic trouble code is shown:
Carry out fault diagnosis according to the instructions. Manufacturer Code Charts
If no diagnostic trouble code is shown:
The installation is successful. Disconnect the diagnostic tool.
Unplug the connector:
- Steering wheel switch unit (633)
- Connect test lamp 86 11 857 between B+ and pin 1 of the male connector.
- The test lamp should light.
Checking the wiring harness
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
Is the function correct?

YES - Checking the Control Module's Sensor Input
