Axle Bearing: Service and Repair

To remove





1. Remove the circlip from the drive shaft.
2. Fasten the housing in a vice and tap out the shaft with a plastic mallet.





3. Remove the larger circlip securing the bearing in the bearing bracket.
4. Press the bearing out of the housing using sleeve 87 91 311 and support 87 92 236.

To fit





1. Fit the new support bearing bracket using drift 83 90 122, sleeve 87 91 311 and sleeve 87 90 461.
2. Fit the larger circlip.
3. Press the shaft into the support bearing bracket using sleeve 87 90 461 and fitting kit 89 96 787 as a support.





4. Fit the circlip.
