Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

To remove







1. Remove the air-filter canister and the induction hose between the lower part of the canister and the throttle body.







2. Relieve the belt tensioner with the special tool 83 95 24 and disengage the generator's multigroove V-belt.
3. Remove the belt tensioner. Use an 8 mm hex socket wrench about 30 mm long.


WARNING
Be careful not to snap the belt tensioner in its end position

To fit
1. Fit the belt tensioner.
2. Mount the belt, check its position on all pulleys and remove the tension reliever so that the belt is tensioned.
3. Refit the air-filter canister and induction hose between the lower part of the air-filter canister and the throttle body.
