To Remove





1. Wash the gearbox beside the gear selector shaft, engage 4th gear and fit locking pin 87 92 335.
2. Undo the Me screw on the selector rod and move the gear lever to 3rd.





3. Pry out the seal using a narrow screwdriver.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage the sealing surface on the selector rod.

To Fit
1. Clean the selector rod and check that it has no burrs.





2. Wind a layer of thin, smooth plastic tape around the hole in the selector rod.
3. Lubricate the gear selector rod and fit the seal. Remove the tape and tap in the seal using the Assembly tool. sealing ring Gear selector 87 90 685 and Clamp 87 91 709.
Tap only as far as the seal is flush with the clutch housing.





4. Join the selector rods using the M8 screw.
5. Check the oil level in the gearbox and top up if needed Use Assembly tool 87 92 590.
