Background
Due to contamination within the shift look solenoid, the shifter may get stuck in Park.
Cars affected
Saab 9-5 models within VIN Serial No. Ranges: X3000001 - X3023950

As much as possible, owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Saab Cars USA, Inc.
A VIN Status List will be supplied to you prior to any owner notification. If you do not receive a Status List, this is an indication that no affected vehicles have been sold to/by your dealership.

Background
Due to contamination within the shift lock solenoid, the shifter may get stuck in Park.
A new, improved shift lock solenoid should be installed on all 9-3 models within the affected VIN Serial No. Range.

Stamping the campaign plate
After the car has been modified, mark the campaign plate in box A4 using a numeral "8" (Saab Special Tool P/N 02 97 713). If needed, this special tool can be ordered directly from Kent-Moore at 1-800-345-2233.
