Air Induction System
System Overview
The air induction system consists of an air cleaner, mass air flow sensor, connecting pipes/hoses, turbocharger and air cooler. The system is connected to the throttle body.
The air used by the engine passes through the induction system where it is cleaned by a filter which removes particles of dust. This filter is located in the air cleaner casing and also serves as an intake air silencer.
The mass air flow sensor provides the engine management system's control module with continuous information on the air mass consumed by the engine. The mass air flow sensor's signals are processed by the control module which monitors the fuel-air mixture needs of the engine.
